  Please use our on-line REGISTRATION FORM  on the home page to sign up your troop.  Go to the bottom of the registration form and you will find a section where you can add additional information. Please add your troop information ( the troop's contact, etc) as well as the number of girls coming and their ages.

The Girl Scout Badge Programs will help you fulfill the 6 requirements for the Horse Rider Badge for Junior Troops & the Horse Sense Badge for Cadette & Senior Troops.  

All Riders must bring a signed liability waiver with them. Please download a copy before you come to the farm.

Also : 

1) BRING A Proper fitting equine/riding helmet    

2) WEAR LONG PANTS.

3) WEAR BOOTS OR STURDY SHOES WITH A DEFINED HEEL.

Boy Scouts Horsemanship Merit Badge Requirements

  • Anatomy of a Horse
  • Horse Breeds and Their Uses
  • Proper Feed and Forage Amounts for Each Type of Horse. 
  • Recognize Injuries and Diseases of the Hoof and Legs and How to Treat them
  • Equipment and its Care
  • Grooming Including the Correct Way to Trim a Hoof
  • Safety On and Around a Horse

 We are an approved High Adventure Vendor for the Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital. Look for us on your Approved Vendor Website. 

We do not take the scouts on a trail ride. All riding is done in our arena.   

Group Discounts

Please feel free to combine your other local troops to get a better group discount! Plus....Troop leaders are welcome to ride too. 

3 Riders (min 3)  = $120/scout 

4-6 Riders        = $100/scout

7-9 Riders        = $95/scout

10-14 Riders     = $80/scout

*If you have more than 14 scouts who want to participate, please call 703-727-1285.

Camps run for 3.5 -4 hours where you spend at least an hour RIDING a horse :) !

 A non-refundable deposit of $150 is required after confirmation of your troop's reservation date in order to hold your day and time.   Please make checks payable to Elway Farms, LLC.

In the event that Elway Farm has to canel your day at the farm, your $150 deposit is 100% refunded.
